Well the ice is staying away this January on Lake Erie as we start the 2017 season. Boats are getting out and walleye are being caught. Fish were taken this past week off the tip of Catawba by trolling deep husky jerks slow 1.0 mph in the top of the water column. There are fish stacked up all the way from the tip of Catawba to south of Green Island, as well as the areas around the reefs. As the end of the week approaches the temps are projected to be in the 50's and even the 60's by this weekend in Ohio. Look for more fisherman getting out and more fishing reports.
